To the Youths (MCYM)

Hey, youth are you ready to surf ?

The answer of the above question will be in the affirmative. The reason being people spend at least half an hour on the net, either everyday or on alternate days. Surfing the net is a very common practice these days, it has become more like a habit. It could be due to umpteen reasons like, job hunting, study or searching for a particular information, time pass and entertainment. It’s more prevalent in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai etc. Though Cochin and Trivandrum can’t boast of similar addiction, they are certainly not far behind. Chat rooms have become the favorite abode of most of the youngsters. In the Cochin and Tvm chat room, many youth in the age group seventeen to twenty eight chat just for fun or time pass, with the sole intention of increasing their friend circle. Matters would have ended there, if this seemingly innocent friendship were done irrespective of the gender, of the chat buddy. Here, friendship is primarily dependent or rather strengthened based on the answer to the first question, which is the clichéd…. “Your a/s/l please.” God forbid, if the gender of the seeker and the new buddy is the same, the conversation comes to an abrupt end. Thus, one can understand what type of friendship they are seeking through this Chat. All are addicted to the net and with the advent of latest technologies like voice chat; gizmos like Web cam, people are pretty enthusiastic. One can hear the voice of the buddy and also see his face or what he is doing in his place. So, to sum up, chatting and surfing the net is a routine thing in the present times.

Now, if I ask you a similar question, a little differently, ‘Are you ready to surf on the Bible?’. Your answer will be an emphatic‘No’. The excuses will be myriad, viz -we are studying, have tuitions and practical or job, over timework in the office. Sundays we go to church and religiously participate in all the activities like Sunday school, MCYM, Prayer group and so on.

I want to know from you noblemen…. You find time to watch cinema serials or cricket etc. Then why can’t you enlighten your souls by gathering some pearls of wisdom, which our scriptures offer? Ask anyone, anything about serials or cricket, the answer is there in a jiffy. But, if I were to ask you, “Thy Money perish with thee”, who told this to whom? You will be at your wits end, wondering from where these words have originated. Desperate and frantic walks down your memory lane will not give you any clues, whatsoever. But, if you are a Bible surfer, you can answer this question. When you search something on the net, you type some keyword. If, I give you some keywords like Peter told this, then it is understood that Peter is in New Testament and more about Peter, is mentioned in ‘Acts’. Thus, if you read Acts you will come across this sentence.
So my dear friends, the way you surf on the net everyday, just spend ten minutes to read the Bible. I’m not asking you for, even a minute more. We spend hours trying to download jokes, poems, riddles, watching movies, so on and so forth. This life of ours if a gift of god and the least we can do is at least spend a few minutes everyday remembering his divine grace and thanking him for making us his reflection. In order, for that reflection to maintain its purity, we need to awake from the slumber that has gripped our soul and do our duty towards him to the best of our abilities. We can begin by, keeping aside some time for pursuing such religious activities like gathering some information from the net for our personal enlightenment.

The human mind is always led by temptation, we have very fickle thoughts, and we give in to our desires very soon. That’s the reason we surf the sites, which are full of filth, which probably paves the path for our doom. The only savior in such cases will be the voice of our heart, the voice of god. If we make a conscious effort to search for information which will lead to spiritual elevation then the job is half done. One can inculcate the habit of visiting the religious sites.

When you grow physically, intellectually, remind yourself good self to grow spiritually also. That’s the way to attain a well-balanced personality. That is the fundamental need of this life. Since we all know, that the goal of the human life is to attain ultimate perfection and that can be attained only through spiritual endeavors.

i really liked the points mentioned in the blog.

u r right - we spend a lot of time reading/visiting/watching useless sites/stuff - which doesn't bring any worth to any single person.
its time for the world to change - but for that to happen - we as a single person have to change.

i remember an audio > a young boy was continuously asking his dad to play with him,but his dad was not in mood to play and was reading some magazine.
The father got bugged by this child and thought of giving this kid some thing to play and occupy his time. This father same accross the picture of a globe(world - atlas),removed it from the book and tore it into pieces and asked the boy to put the pieces back to get the perfect globe picture. The father thought that it would take the boy really some time to finish this work. But the child came back in less than a minute. The father was surprised to see this.So he asked his son - how did u do this?the answer was simple

Dad on the other side of this globe picture was the snap of a person. When i fixed and put back the person - the world was OK.

Which means - once all the people in the world are ok or become ok - the world will be ok.

Keep smiling
